At Zhen Zhang Lab, we specialize in molecular biology and genetics. Our team is dedicated to advancing our understanding of the fundamental processes that govern life, including RNA transcription, protein synthesis, and epigenetics. We use a variety of cutting-edge techniques, including CRISPR/Cas gene editing and single-cell sequencing, to investigate the molecular mechanisms that underlie these processes. Our ultimate goal is to develop new therapies for diseases and improve our ability to create genetically modified organisms for research, medical, and industrial applications.

Efficient engineering of human and mouse primary cells using peptide-assisted genome editing

Dr. Zhang have introduced the Peptide-Assisted Genome Editing (PAGE) CRISPR–Cas system, which provides a rapid and well-tolerated method for editing the genomes of primary cells. PAGE achieves high editing efficiency with minimal toxicity and minimal transcriptional disruption. This technology is applicable to a wide range of primary cell types, making it a versatile platform for advanced genome engineering.
